At about 715 pm tonight, while tracking a radio-tagged crow to its roost site,
I had an American Woodcock (seen very clearly in silhouette) hurtle across
Genung Road going NE toward somewhere just a little N of the Ellis Hollow
Nursery School. It didn’t have a lot of “air” and was descending, perhaps
toward the open field N of the school.

The crow remained unseen, but was roosting in the other direction, in its usual
spot W of the Dominion Gas installation.
