[cayugabirds-l] New arrival

2017-04-27 Thread Carol Keeler
Here in Auburn my FOY White Crown Sparrow arrived. All but one of my White
Throated Sparrows seems to have left last night. The White Crowns arrive here
when my serviceberry is in bloom. They began blooming yesterday.

Our late populating South Danby elevation has an added voice this morning -
a Wood Thrush singing his incredible suite of joy.

[cayugabirds-l] New arrival

2012-05-07 Thread John and Sue Gregoire
New arrivals today were Willow and Alder Flycatcher. Also banded three Pine
Siskins.
Looks like they may hang around to nest again this year; weve had at least four
consistently through winter/spring.

Sandhill Cranes may be nesting in Queen Catharine Marsh, Schuyler Cty. Two were
foraging a couple of weeks ago and one was sighted foraging in the same area
yesterday. The dirt road that runs north/south on the east of the IBA/BCA marsh
is
called Rock Cabin Rd and at about the middle is an observation platform; the
cranes
have been seen (conveniently) in that area.
