I topped off the gorgeous morning with a visit to Marty's porch, where I sat from 11:20 to 11:50. To my surprise, the Rufous Hummingbird indeed came in at 15-minute intervals and gave me ample opportunity to study it. A very handsome life bird, and a beautiful spot-- no wonder he likes it there! Seemed to be perching in the apple tree between visits. Thanks so much, Marty and Mary Jean! (I celebrated with some rufous pumpkin ice cream at the Creamery for lunch..of course.)
