I want to thank Robert Wesley, Laurie Roe, Liz Brown, John Titus, Anne Clark,
Stuart Krasnoff, and Melissa Luckow for informing me that the item the
chickadee is carrying is a fruit of an agrimony, Agrimonia sp. in the Rosaceae.
Also, sorry for the long url. Google is messing with our lives.
It looks like the seed capsule of some kind of agrimony (Agrimonia sp.). We've
got several species around here.
