Lots of Caspian Terns squawking as they flew around the spit area at Myers Park this am. I was in a blind at a distance down the creek, so couldn't see well, but at least once I thought I could discern a Caspian fledgling.
Also, an interesting occurrence as I waited for Mrs. Kingfisher to show up (she eventually did). At one point I could hear a fledgling Osprey begging plaintively very close to my blind on the bank, but hidden by vegetation. I managed to angle myself for a look out the blind window, and there were two Ospreys (adult and fledgling) standing side by side in the shallow water at the edge of an area of exposed gravel in the creek! As far as I could tell they were just lounging there, but only for a couple of minutes.
