As has been posted, the two ibis continued through the afternoon, foraging
in the grass right along the wildlife drive at Benning Marsh. One is
clearly a WHITE-FACED: Reddish eye, red facial skin, red legs, silver bill,
and gorgeous golden-green wings. The other bird was markedly different,
with a
As Jay points out, the adult is obviously White-faced. The immature bird
perhaps raises the question: which species is to be expected in mid-October?
If either. I'm not sure.
If the birds don't come back to Benning or turn up at Knox-Marsellus, I would
recommend watching to see if they fly
