Susan Danskin, John Confer, Marty Borko, and I birded around the lake
yesterday. I was fighting a cold, did not take notes, and so do not
remember much besides a few highlights. It was an interesting day,
much of it spent dodging snow squalls.

Some of us spent the day, Sunday, standing on windy, snow-swept
shorelines looking through incredibly large flocks for Ross Geese and
Eurasian Widgeon without success (Well OK, there was the Ross Goose
overhead, but you might have seen it while staying in the car.) Others
stayed at home, slept

A walk up Bundy Road on west hill at 2:30pm was enlivened by the sight of two
(FOY for us) killdeer in the fields on the south side of the road and eight
turkeys in the field not far west of that. Also a red-tailed hawk being mobbed

Just observed around 3000 snow geese flyover downtown Aurora headed for
west side of lake.

A Common Raven was just calling and circling lazily over the northern end of
the Ithaca airport just a few minutes ago (1pm).
