Little late in posting, but day before yesterday I was very pleasantly
surprised to see a GREAT BLUE HERON flying at the back of the Tompkins

Jim and I studied the bird extensively and thought it was a Slaty-backed. We
saw it fly briefly but in a swirling mass of gulls and wingtips. I thought I
could see the "string of pearls" but can't be sure.
