Today for lunch walk I did a round of Beebe Lake and Mundy WG. Highlights were, one Horned Grebe on the lake, several Ruby-crowned Kinglets behind Mann Library and a Broad-winged Hawk, which was actually heading south despite of stiff south winds. Right now Song Sparrow is hopping around

I know this is out of the immediate region but I thought folks may be interested in this bird. This evening at Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge in the Kumpf Marsh I spotted a male transitional plumage RUFF. The photo is on the link below (it was sunset so the light is not great).
