Montezuma Audubon Center's Education Manager Chris Lajewski will lead a Birding
Van Tour on Howland’s Island on Thursday,
November 7 from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Howland’s Island is one of the wildest
places in all of Montezuma which makes it an ideal place for migratory birds
and other wildlife. Hop

lake, especially between 8:00 and 8:30 or so, including groups of scaup,
HHOWLS (Hammond Hill Owl Site) had our best night of the year last
night on 29 Oct. We have banded on almost all nights that weren't
raining or had very strong winds from the south for this fall. Migration
this year has far fewer birds than last year when we got banding records

Do they make their little toot sound when flying in migrations, John?

I got some photos this morning of a partial albino American Robin. This is
rather common for robins, but it's still an interesting bird. I put photos at

I'm sure this has been hashed out on Cayugabirds-L before, but I've just been
