Eurasian Wigeon continues at stewart park, just a bit west of the pier.

Try throwing a lightweight blanket over it, if you can get near it. Then put in
med. dog carrier.
Call cornell vet school & ask how to take to Janet Swanson wildlife clinic.

Many snow geese appear to still be hanging around the shore south of Cayuga
lake state park north of Wolffy's, at least as see through the heat shimmer
from the east end of the lake. Possibly less than yesterday?

I'm looking to replace my tripod and head. Looking for best fit: carbon
fiber, ideally 4 leg sections for travel, great load capacity for this
scope, very secure lock system, head type recommendations etc. Thoughts

Around 1600 (4 pm) We heard a snipe winnowing from the wet field next
door. It has been many years since we had Snipe here as most of the good
fields formerly wet were heavily drained and hedgerows denuded in support
of factory level dairy farming. It's the 45th species of the year here.

On this lovely spring day I am being serenaded by a northern mockingbird
singing for all its worth from atop the green-roofed barn at corner Sweazey Rd
& NY Rt. 34-B, Lansing! Could be in small fruit tree there, too.
Another one is down the hill, toward lake, in Cornell orchard.

Here's a link to the Ivory-billed Woodpecker story that aired this morning on

The snows are still on Lower Lake Rd.—many more landed an hour ago. And there
are 4 sand hill cranes on the far side of the pool at the visitors center.
