What it really boils down to is how accurate you want to get. I
f you start at the extreme 1 second is approximately 90 feet give or
take depending on your location. That means that one minute is roughly
equal to 5,400 feet and one degree 324,000 feet.
So if you take 1/10th of a degree you get
of the road
in the trees.

When asking Kevin McGowan as to the date of this years trip to Niagara
Falls he informed me that he was not leading this years trip. Does
anyone know who, if anyone, will be leading this trip? Will there be a
trip this year?
thanks

Considering that we accept MNWR as being in the basin isn't it just
academic to be asking which side of a road the birds were? Just saying:?)

This may sound a little nit-picky, but when reporting a bird sighting
could those reporting please give a location and not use local
references or not so well known initials.

Going through my photos of Cooper's hawks and Sharp-shinned Hawks I
can't decide which is which. If anyone would like to try and help me
sort this out please let me know and I will send you copies of the Hawks.
Thanks

OK, here is the problem I have with eBiird. I just checked for sightings
in New York State and the only sighting listed was from Dave Nutter on
Feb 22. Nothing since then. I get eBird alerts for Seneca and Cayuga
county. What I get are Chipping Sparrow, no Gyrfalcon. Granted eBird is
great for
hundreds of Snow Buntings Davis Rd Lansing 600 block by large dairy farm
