The American White Pelican is still present in Ithaca this morning (4 Dec
2016). At 7:45 am, it was back on the red lighthouse jetty.
As I scattered bird food along my deck railing, I noticed a RED BREASTED
NUTHATCH pecking bark butter in my hanging drilled log.
It didn't leave, so thinking it might be like some I hand feed in Algonquin
Prov. Park, I held out mixed seeds on my palm.
RB soon flew to my hand & selected a peanut!
My dog had the same thing & almost died. Meds cured her.
