American avocet continues to be showy in the Benning Marsh today at 12pm at
Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge.

American AVOCET, MNWR Wildlife Drive, in shallow water across from first 2
piles of black earth, aways before first big left turn that heads away from
Seneca River towards T'Way.

I checked from Stewart Park after we left Hog Hole. The avocet was not

Bird still present as of 1245 pm. Great views from hog hole. Took many digi
scope images. Lighting good. Hope they come out. Was just finishing birding
Towpath road when I finally saw Tim#39;s email. Thanks Tim. I would have
driven right home and missed this great bird. Towpath road continues
Great views from Hog Hole between 1145 and
1245 pm today. I don't have a super telephoto lens camera
so I digi-scoped these images. Lighting was good.
Pictures are just OK but I bet someone with a

I saw the American Avocet from East Road, distant but decisive scope views, at
6:30 PM Sunday. Same area of Puddler's Marsh as he was in yesterday.
A Sandhill Crane pair were feeding on the berm not far away, and a Caspian Tern

At least Three Sandhill Cranes were found at Knox-Marcellus.
There was a Caspian Tern at Larue’s Lagoon.
A Barred Owl was vocalizing
He was still around today. He was at Knox-Marcellus swishing his bill
between a large number of ducks. No one seemed to mind.

Just got word of Larue and Jackie's weekly survey. Among a handful of other
shorebirds at Montezuma, they report an AMERICAN AVOCET at Puddler Marsh off
of Towpath Road this morning. Other birds of note include a Bonaparte's
Gull and two Sandhill Cranes at Puddler, a Peregrine at Tschache, and a
