[cayugabirds-l] More Siskins
Birds of a feather. Yesterday my Siskins hung with the goldfinches but Today with a dozen plus they formed their own flock chasing other birds away. Interesting. RE: [cayugabirds-l] More Siskins/B Eagle
I have had 2 PINE SISKINS in with my many A. GOLDFINCHES here at my feeders over the last 2 months or so. The siskins more or less stick together and many days I do not see them. Also, along with all my usual feeder birds, I saw a juvenile BALD EAGLE soaring around and then perching on my White Oak tree on the cliff overlooking the lake. The A. CROW family wasted no time in coming over to mob the eagle, who sat up there awhile looking all about before it took off and gracefully flew north. The eagle had a half-yellow bill and when the feathers on its head blew up in the wind, the feathers appeared buffy-colored. After the eagle show, I spotted to the east side of the road, soaring around in circles against the clear blue sky, a lovely RED TAILED HAWK.
