A rather chilly-sounding Belted Kingfisher was rattling quietly as it patrolled the small stream on one side of my property, which still has some open water. I certainly feel sorry for a bird that makes its living diving into frigid water in this below-freezing weather. Wish I had more than sunflower seeds or canned sardines to offer it...
