Hi all, I wanted to test a lens, so I went to Stewart park in search of subjects. I did find lots of gulls to photograph. But the highlight was three adult Lesser Black-backed gulls. Each of them could be distinguished by the amount of black on the red spot of their beaks. Two of them were close by and the third one was standing separately. In hurry, in anticipation of photography, I forgot even to take my binoculars. But the gulls were close enough to the shore and I could see their legs clearly through my camera.
I saw a pair of Common and Hooded mergansers on the Fall Creek. Also a pair of Green-winged Teals that flew across Fall creek. Near Willow street on route 13 there was a single Tree Swallow floating around!
