[cayugabirds-l] Veery on the porch
This morning was a Thrush day. Awoke to the sweetest sound of a Wood Thrush singing it's heart out in my Sugar Maple woods. Next, a plump Veery landed on my covered porch and hopped over to investigate some sunflower seedlings trays. Great way to say good morning in Brooktondale. evie -- *Evelyn Weinstein, LMSW* *376 Brooktondale Rd* *Brooktondale, NY 14817* *USA* *607.592.* -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
[cayugabirds-l] Veery
FOY veery in the woods here by Six-Mile Creek, hopping around silently checking out the large tree that fell over the winter, allowing for a great unbinoculared view of its spotless front and reddish upperparts. Also FOY for me Yellow Warbler down near the second dam. [cayugabirds-l] Veery?
I think I saw a Veery in my backyard this morning. Is that likely? It looks like the furthest North that ebird reports for now is South Carolina. But it really looked like a Veery. [cayugabirds-l] Veery
My West Danby place received a modest influx overnight, including a number of American Redstarts, Red-eyed Vireos, Black-throated Blue Warbler, Blackburnian, and my first Veery. I'm standing in the City Cemetary right now. Several Least Flycatchers in view, Warbling Vireo, not much else going on. Fun to remember what a hotspot this was in the late '90s! -Geo Kloppel -- Cayugabirds-L List Info: http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsWELCOME http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsRULES http://www.NortheastBirding.com/CayugabirdsSubscribeConfigurationLeave.htm ARCHIVES: 1) http://www.mail-archive.com/cayugabirds-l@cornell.edu/maillist.html 2) http://www.surfbirds.com/birdingmail/Group/Cayugabirds 3) http://birdingonthe.net/mailinglists/CAYU.html Please submit your observations to eBird: http://ebird.org/content/ebird/ --
