Re: [cayugabirds-l] BB Cuckoo

2011-05-20 Thread Tom
Our joy of bedroom window birding this week has been the two male orioles
visiting the hummingbird feeder. The hot coffee early in the morning adds to
the pleasure.

Our alarm went off at 5 a.m., and a minute later a long clockwork call came
through the window from a Black-billed Cuckoo. I love birding in bed!

Also from the window a bit later I heard a number of Blackpoll Warblers in
the yard, but no stuttering Tennessees, for the first time all week. Checked
our woods and hawthornes, and all was quiet in the fog.
