Re: [cayugabirds-l] The Hero Who Convinced His Fellow Ornithologists of the Obvious: Stop Shooting Rare Birds and Watch Them Instead | Smithsonian

2024-11-24 Thread Christopher T. Tessaglia-Hymes
I think the Wilson statue may have been removed following the recent visitor
center renovations, so I’m not sure where it is now. Also, be prepared to know
that the wood-paneled Brewster Library, with all of the original Louis Agassiz
Fuertes artwork in situ, has been dismantled and removed. Although, some of the
Fuertes art is now on display in the auditorium, I believe most is now in art
storage somewhere.

Sincerely,
Chris T-H

Near the end of this article, there is a photo of the Arthur and Elsa Allen
taken somewhere at Cornell, holding two of the volumes of Wilson's American
Ornithology and standing in front of a sculpture of Wilson. Does anyone happen
to know where this sculpture is today?
