A considerable amount of work was accomplished by the American Bird Conservancy in determining that no type of cat collar was effective in protecting birds from marauding cats. See the ABC Cats Indoors program. Some have attempted to use the collar as a means of justifying TNR programs which have been proven ineffective on many fronts but especially on protecting wildlife.
