This consultant will install new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems. Perform system backups and recovery. Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures. Systems Administrator capabilities with 5 years of experience, relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, performs a variety of complicated tasks, a degree of creativity and latitude is expected. *Description of Job Responsibilities:* Ensures storage provisioning, performance tuning, adding volumes, scripting for automating of tasks, assigning ports, error tracking, data movement, software configurations, product evaluation, and addressing compatibility issues. Stays informed of current and emerging technologies for storage and Backup/Recovery trends, in order to advise and counsel on their potential strategic value. Participates in the creation of standards, best practices and new processes for operational integration of new technology solutions. Governs the Storage, Backup and Recovery environment to ensure compliance to defined standards and operational procedures.
