*What are the MUST have skills that you are looking for in a *
*candidate?*

 *10+ years of experience deploying, maintaining, and operating
applications (particularly JVM applications) deployed in cloud instances*
* Experience building and administering CI/build pipelines and tools
(particularly Jenkins)*
* Linux system administration, including a high comfort level with RHEL
and/or Ubuntu*
* Experience engineering solutions for scalability, reliability, and uptime*
* Infrastructure automation experience using tools such as Chef, Puppet, or
Ansible*
* Scripting or programming experience with Ruby, Python, Bash, or another
object-oriented programming language*
* Network configuration experience*

What are the technologies and the depth of the technologies that a
candidate must have in order to be successful in this role?
 Linux system administration (advanced)
 Network administration (intermediate)
 Experience with at least one scripting or programming language
(intermediate)

What are the soft skills that you feel candidates must-have in order to be
successful in this role?
 Ability to learn, use, and integrate a wide variety of open source
technologies and tools
 Comfortable with collaboration, open communications, and reaching across

 Ability to multitask
 Ability to work autonomously and deal with ambiguous requirements and
complicated problems

Prescreening Questions

 When do you automate a task, and when might it be wrong to automate a task?
 How do you go about making changes to production environments while
ensuring quality and minimal downtime (preferably zero downtime)?
 How would you approach the following situation in your job? Every few
days, a cloud management process becomes unresponsive and prevents users
from launching instances. The previous solutions has been for an engineer
to ssh to the controller machine and manually restart the process each time
it becomes unresponsive.
 When you develop software, how do you determine when your code is good
enough?
