Hi John,
One of the things we need to properly support these types of features
is a real config file for ccache, probably a file called 'config' in
the ccache cache directory. The current system with environment
variables just makes it too clumsy to add features like these neatly.

I think it's probably time to find a new maintainer - the lack of
releases stems from 2 things:
1) great intentions running into lack of time :-)
2) the lack of serious bugs in ccache that
