[OSL | CCIE_Voice] IP Expert Materials question and how to use them
Hey there. First I would like to apologize if my questions are a little bit off topic for this technical mailing list. I already passed a CCIE in RS and now need to focus on voice technologies since there is a business need from my boss. I have a very little knowledge in this field and already finished the CCNA books/videos. Currently reading the CVOICE book, my plan is the following : - CVOICE Book/Videos - Gateways and Gatekeepers book - CIPT1-2 Book/Videos - CUCM Book from Cisco Press - Unitiy Book from Cisco Press - Presence Book from Cisco press - SIP Trunking Book I guess this will provide me some background and I ll need much more hands on labs ... I m actually deploying a full UC solutions ... What I would like to ask you guys is how do you use the IP Expert materials. I m not going to ask that to the sales because we all know that sales guys would sale their own mother for 10 bucks :P I m asking here because you are using the materials on a daily basis and if anyone passed their lab using IPexpert please dont be shy to provide some useful advice :) (preparation advice using IPX materials I m asking . not non NDA stuff) Who is the instructor that is on IPX videos ? how are they ? Also what about the workbooks ? Are they both printed and electronic or electronic and videos ? ( I dont really like the videos for a solutions workbooks) Thanks for answering theses questions and please excuse me if this is a little bit off topic :) Nic -- Nicolas MICHEL CCIE #29410 ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? [OSL | CCIE_Voice] ANI Translation
Hello, I am a little confused about the ANI translation. Imagine that we have several Route Patterns: 1. Local Calls Pattern 2. Long Distance Calls Pattern 3. International Calls Pattern Actual Pattern Strings does not matter. All Patterns point to the same Route List (there is only one Route List defined) Now if we want to provide different ANI based on the Called Number, we have to use the Route Pattern Translation options so that when the call goes through Local Calls Pattern, we can set ANI as X. But when the call goes through the Long Distance Calls Pattern we can set the ANI to Y And so on, for International Calls Pattern as well. As and I guess it is NOT POSSIBLE to use the Route List ANI Translation Options for ANI translation based on the Called Number, as all Patterns point to the same Route List, and Route List cannot differentiate which Route Pattern has been called initially. So it will Translate ANI for all calls, without differentiating which Pattern has been called. Am I right? Or I am missing something, and do not fully understand the Route Lists? ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] ANI Translation
Yes you are correct. But keep your RL translations blank ; otherwise RG/RL will override RP translations. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] ANI Translation
You are correct. The route list translations will be used whereever the route list is used. You can assign translations to ANI using a Translation profile. Translation profiles match on called number, but allow manipulations to called or calling numbers. So your user's css points to the TP. It does manipluations in ANI and then uses its own css to send the call out the appropriate route pattern. Also, keep in mind if you send the calls out an h323 or SIP gateway, you can do the ANI translations in the outbound dialpeers. So, no cucm based manipulations might benecessary. Also, keep in mind you can use calling party transformations... Perhaps on the outbound gateway. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Hunting to channels in same dn
The Ephone-dn configuration without the Huntstop channel command has to work. If your remove the Huntstop Channel, you said that the Phone rings for more then 10 seconds. What is the about time the phone continues to ring? And does it finally gets redirected to Voice Mail?
