Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Problem with Proctor Labs Voice vRack Control Web UI
Hey Brandon, The only time I have seen weird issues when using ProctorLabs vRacks is if I don't do a 'Revert Entire Pod' BEFORE loading the lab config that I want to work with. Amp Quoting Brandon brana...@yahoo.com: I've completed a few labs and did a search on this topic but didn't find much. I'm having a problem where my CUCM servers don't come up with config that should already be in-place at the start of a lab. I choose the appropriate lab from the config load button. Are students expected to build from a blank slate CUCM each time we progress through the series of labs? I've tried loading both Lab 4A initial and Lab 4A final to troubleshoot, but the result is the same. For example, the CUCM System Region is missing the regions created in labs 1-3. Also, the Advertise G.722 Codec Enterprise Parameter is set to enabled which is set to disabled in lab 2A. You will not waste time on our racks... when you begin your session, YOU will be able to choose the lab scenario you are working on, and pre-load the configs for that lab scenario - THIS INCLUDES loading base configs for each of the servers!! When I read that it appears to me I shouldn't have to do anything to the server and should be able to start at the beginning of a new lab and have all of the cumulative changes from previous labs ready to go. Any ideas? ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Check out www.PlatinumPlacement.com
Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Problem with Proctor Labs Voice vRack Control Web UI
I've done some more research since I'm not going to have enough time to complete the whole lab at this point. What I've discovered is that I reverted to Lab 2B Final and I am still missing the region and enterprise parameter as I noted before. However, the route patterns that I had seen with the lab 4A final are gone. So I know the lab control software did something. I'm just not sure if it loads a different virtual machine or if it uses something like SOAP/AXL to make the cumulative changes from previous labs. I do know the pub goes from pingable to not reachable during the load lab config process, but that doesn't necessarily mean it is shutdown and antoher virtual machine is brought up in its place. To test I've created extra config (not specified in the lab) in region, dp, dtg, gateway, and route pattern. I also changed the advertise G.722 enterprise parameter to disabled. I then did a load lab config for Lab 4B final, but ONLY for the CUCM Pub and I purposely did not do a revert first. The result was that my extra config was gone, and the pub looked like it did for the first time I had loaded 4B final. If the process does rely on AXL, it does a good job of clearing config, but I'm leaning toward it using different virtual machine images, which means that some of the source VM images are not correct. I guess I just have to double check everything at the start of a lab? This is painful. Any ideas on if I'm doing something wrong? ~~ I've completed a few labs and did a search on this topic but didn't find much. The starting lab configs can be mixed up a bit. But you should expect yo do prep work to work on the technology lab you are working on. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Probleme with conference Bridge BR1
I'm not using PL, but in my lab I had to reload the router before reallocating DSPs to different services. I'd suggest doing no dspfarm, remove profiles, reload the router and then configure like you want from scratch. There is also a *show dspfarm all command, which should show you what DSP is used where. * On Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 2:10 PM, Cory Gray corygray22...@hotmail.comwrote: Complete shot in the dark. Do show inv and maybe show diag | inc PVDM also try show voice dscp group all Or at least I think that might help see if the dscp resources are available Bill On Oct 26, 2012, at 12:02 PM, Nicolas MICHEL mcl.nico...@gmail.com wrote: Same result :( Le Friday, October 26, 2012 6:57:30 PM, Abel ... a écrit : Try it with voice-card 0 with dspfarm also. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Probleme with conference Bridge BR1
Well, show inventory should tell you what DSPs you have on the box. Since Conference DSPs can't be shared, you need at least a DSP for this, and a DSP to use for your PRI group. So you're going to need either a PVDM2-32 or more than one PVDM2-16, I suggest. If you have multiple DSPs installed across several PVDMs, then you might try : voice-card 0 dspfarm dsp services dspfarm if they're all on the same module. First thing for us to see would be output fromshow inventory I reckon we can look a bit more closely at why you're out of DSPs then. regards Peter On 10/26/2012 5:54 PM, Nicolas MICHEL wrote: Hi Guys, Looks like I cannot add a Conference bridge on BR1-RTR (I'm using PL). Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Problem with Proctor Labs Voice vRack Control Web UI
After talking with support via the chat option, I've learned a few things. One is that for the servers it is indeed loading another VM image as suspected. So here's a few things I've learned over the past few hours: There is a base VM image for each server loaded at the start of a fresh session. The image for Lab 2A Final is the same image used for 2B Final and 4A Initial. The state of an image may not be the state it should be in based on cumulative changes the workbook has the student perform. Don't assume you have used the control web page incorrectly. The VM image is likely missing config that you should have up to this point. This was confirmed by me by comparing 2A Final with 4A Final. 2A Final contains most of the work from Labs 1 and 2 (like server rename from hostname to IP addresses, DTG changes, Device Pool, SIP Dial Rules, etc.) 2A Final is missing advertise 722 enterprise parameter set to disabled, all of the regions, and their may be other areas lacking. The image for 4A Final also does not have the regions. I jumped forward to 6A Final and it DOES have the regions again. Excerpt from my support chat with ipexpert / proctor labs: Me: at this point, I know that I could easily recreate the missing config, but before I researched I assumed it was something I was doing wrong on loading/reverting/etc. I never loaded 2A final I did load 2B final to see if 2B final was also missing regions, which it was as well as enterprise parameter for advertise 722 set to disabled Support: This snapshot covers itself as well as 2B-Final, and 4A-Initial (Lab 3 doesn't cover CUCM so there is no snapshot for it). Me: ok, that's fine, 2B doesn't really have many changes in the CUCM but 4A initial should still have everything that was done at the end of 2A, right? Support: I am not exactly sure as to what will be covered in each lab. ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job?
