Does your calling search space on your phone contain the partition you are
trying to hit?

2014-07-14 Thread James Buchanan
1. Does your route pattern point to a route list or directly to the gateway?
2. Run the Dialed Number Analyzer and see if that will tell you what you
are hitting (https://publisherIPaddress/dna)

No, it'll be a parameter in the application itself.

In either your script or in the Application Management page in UCCX
AppAdmin, you will need to change the String variable that defines the
4-digit extension to which the call is transferred.

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] 911 calls by mistake

One effective way to eliminate this issue is to eliminate the "9" prefix
for all outgoing calls. Some have changed the prefix digit to "8" and some
have eliminated it altogether.

[OSL | CCIE_Voice] CCIE #25863

2010-01-22 Thread James Buchanan
Hello,

I'm glad to share that today, I found out that I am CCIE #25863 (Voice).

I want to thank the folks on this list as well as the folks at IPExpert
for the good work they have done in creating relevant materials to ease
the preparation for the lab. I used their materials exclusively,
particularly the lab scenarios from the 5 day training. I modified these
to add some variety as well.

I wish I could say I had some sophisticated strategy, but I didn't. I
just did everything as fast as I could and as accurately as I could the
first time, and completed in six hours with two hours to spare, which
allowed plenty of time to test.

I did take some advice that showed up on OSL the other day to make a
summarized list of IP addresses. That was helpful.

In terms of study materials, along with the IPExpert boot camp and
accompanying materials, I found the administration guides helpful. Also,
the tech notes on various subjects are rather helpful. The CallManager
SRND was not as helpful as the QoS SRND.

I would also add that it is very important to make sure you understand
what they are trying to test you on when they ask you to perform a task.
Understanding that was helpful in a couple of areas.

I wish everyone on here all the best in preparing for this.

Thank you,

James Buchanan, CCIE #25863

Senior Network Engineer

Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] SNR Issues

2010-01-19 Thread James Buchanan
Hello,

When using the local Route Group, the calling phone will use its own
route group instead of the route group associated with the rerouting
CSS, partition, and pattern of the remote destination profile. So, if I
am in Orlando, and you are in Nashville, if I am calling from my Orlando
phone, it would use my Orlando gateway.

The solution to the problem of the remote destination (which could be
seven digits) would be use application dial rules and have everyone
input their remote destination as 10 digits.

Thanks,

James

Having issue with SNR :

1. I have setup RD for HQ Ph 1 as outside PSTN number, when I make call
from
HQ ph2 then HQPh1 and it's RD ( PSTN number) rings. But when I call from
BR1
or BR2 then only HQ PH1 rings but it's RD does not. Seems like I have
Rerouting CSS issueI am using Local Route Group in DP.

2. My second questions can the RD be an internal number or has it to be
a
PSTN number only.

Thanks for your help.
