[OSL | CCIE_Voice] MGCP Codecs

2011-12-15 Thread datucha123 datucha123
Hello,

What codecs does the MGCP Gateway supports by default?

There is a command - *ccm-manager mgcp codec-all*, which sets all codec for
CallManager.

So MGCP does not support all codecs by default, or that command is already
default one?

Dude,

12 days ago you asked what are the default codec for I dont remember which
feature, then you asked the default QoS settings without doing a show
command... Now you ask for another default codec question and you are
spamming the shit out of us I guess.

Is it possible to do some research before asking here and flooding our
mailbox ? I'm sorry I don't want to be a moron and I would help if I had
the required knowledge but please Is it possible for you to do some effort
?
I apologize if I am a little bit rough on this.

I guess CCIE Voice is not all about knowing the default features...

Thanks a lot for understanding and good luck in your studies.

Nic

2011-12-15 Thread George Goglidze
MGCP gateways do not have preferred codecs, they are dummy endpoints, they
only announce their capabilities to CUCM and then it's up to CUCM's
preferences and region configurations to choose which codec will be used.

And show mgcp will show you what capabilities the gateway has(including
codecs). I believe you would need codec-all if you wanted something like
ilbc.

Cheers,
