Dear CCP4 Community,

Montana State University (MSU) invites applications for 3 tenure-track
faculty positions in neuroimmunology (see advertisement below). We are
particularly interested in candidates that intend to develop research
programs that include structural biology. Relevant core facilities at MSU
include X-ray crystallography, NMR, mass spectrometry, and a new Talos
Arctica microscope equipped with a Gatan K3 camera. In addition to this
cluster hire, MSU will also be announcing a cryo-EM specific position soon.
Please help us spread the word.

interrogate dynamic interactions at the interface of Neurology and
Immunology. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, fundamental
and applied biology, immunology, neurology, pathology, psychiatry,
parasitology, aging, structural biology, and virology. Successful
applicants will integrate their research programs with undergraduate and
graduate student instruction and participate in professional service
activities. We are particularly interested in individuals whose work
complements and strengthens the research interests of MSU faculty,
including those focused on neurology, developmental biology, immunology,
microbial physiology and ecology, molecular evolution, virology, biomedical
microbiology, environmental health, structural biology, and host-pathogen
interactions. The Department of Microbiology & Cell Biology offers a
dynamic research and teaching environment with state-of-the-art facilities
for infectious disease (e.g., BSL3), flow cytometry, light and
cryo-electron microscopy, histology, and small and large animal research.
The University supports comprehensive cores in metabolomics, proteomics,
imaging, structural biology, and genomics/bioinformatics. This position is
supported by a competitive institutional salary, a generous start-up
package, and state-of-the-art research facilities. The job description and
application materials are available online (
https://jobs.montana.edu/postings/25947).

[ccp4bb] last day to register for the SSRL/LCLS User Meeting

2021-09-17 Thread Mooers, Blaine H.M. (HSC)
Dear CCP4BB,

Today is the last day to register for the SSRL/LCLS User Meeting that starts on
Monday.
It is free. https://events.bizzabo.com/SLAC-UsersMeeting-2021/home.

The poster session runs 12 - 1 PM Pacific Time M-Th.
You use the gathertown software to attend it.
Navigation of the poster session is like playing a 1990s computer game.

I was on the poster judging team.
We spent this week judging the posters virtually.
We made our selections of the finalist today.
All of the semifinalist posters were excellent.

Best regards,

Blaine

Yes, you can use DSSP 4.0 (https://github.com/PDB-REDO/dssp) to directly
annotate your structure model in PDB or mmCIF format. The latter is
recommended.

Hi,

I updated my ccp4 and it came with Coot 0.9.6.EL where the sequence view does
not show the numbers of amino acids in the sequence and some letters overlap -
anyone having the same problem? Do I need to install some other version?

Thanks,

2021-09-17 Thread Andrea Moretti
Dear all,

Thanks a lot for all your nice suggestions, I really appreciate them.

I am now digging through all the methods you suggest trying to find the one
that will solve my enzimatic issue.
For the ones that asked what was not working, I am trying to replicate some
data but with not much success until now.

Thanks again for your help and have a nice day.
