[ccp4bb] Two PhD Positions in Structural Biology at the University of Freiburg (Hunte Lab)

2022-04-01 Thread Carola Hunte
Dear all,

two PhD positions are open to study the assembly and biogenesis of membrane
protein complexes with crucial roles in the aerobic energy metabolism. The
projects are part of the Collaborative Research Center
<https://www.sfb1381.uni-freiburg.de/> SFB 1381 (Dynamic Organization of
Cellular Protein Machineries) and positions are associated with the Spemann
Graduate School of Biology and Medicine (SGBM <http://www.sgbm.uni-freiburg.
de/> ). Methods include complexome profiling, X‐ray crystallography,
cryo-EM. For details check here

[ccp4bb] PhD Position in Structural Biology at the University of Freiburg

2014-07-29 Thread Carola Hunte
At the University of Freiburg (Germany), a PhD position is open in the Hunte
lab to study fundamental processes of biological energy conversion and their
implications in health and disease. Focus will be on cofactor-mediated
electron transfer in cellular respiration. Membrane protein complexes will
be studied with a combination of molecular biological, biochemical and
biophysical methods with emphasis on X-ray crystallography.

The position is integrated in the Research Training Group (RTG) 1976
“Functional diversity of cofactors in enzymes”, a three‐year structured
PhD program ( http://www.cofactor-diversity.uni-freiburg.de/RTG
http://www.cofactor-diversity.uni-freiburg.de/RTG). The Hunte research group
is based at the Institute for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (
http://www.biochemie.uni-freiburg.de/ag/hunte/
http://www.biochemie.uni-freiburg.de/ag/hunte/) and is member of the BIOSS
Centre for Biological Signalling Studies (Cluster of Excellence,
http://www.bioss.uni-freiburg.de/ http://www.bioss.uni-freiburg.de). We
are offering a dedicated research environment with state-of-the art
facilities for membrane protein research at the molecular level. We are
seeking highly motivated and qualified individuals with a keen interest in
molecular biomedical research.

Candidates should hold a university degree (Master or equivalent) in
biochemistry, chemistry, biology or a related topic. Positions are available
from October 2014. For further information, please contact Carola Hunte
(Email : mailto:carola.hu...@biochemie.uni-freiburg.de
carola.hu...@biochemie.uni-freiburg.de). Applications should be directly
send to the RTG ( http://www.cofactor-diversity.uni-freiburg.de/RTG/PhD
