Dear all,

Moritz Wette has written a python based plugin for coot which acts as
an interface between knuspr and RCrane. Knuspr places phosphates and
bases into electron density maps which, by can then be used as
starting point for backbone building with RCrane.

It seems stable in our hands now, and I am looking for beta-testers
who would be willing to share their experience with the knuspr GUI.

The tar-ball currently requires modifications to the coot installation
directory and I only have a knuspr binary for 64bit and 32bit Linux,
but I am happy to share the source code for compilation (for Windows:
the code uses getopt() which keeps it from compiling when I try
myself). A little expertise in computing would be helpful for reading
the installtion readme.

If you are interested in testing, please send me an email and I will
return the files required for running the GUI, including the knuspr
Linux binary or source code respectively.

We would like to hear about user unfriendly beahviour, error messages,
etc, etc. knuspr should work with a resolution of 2.5-3 A or better if
the phases are decent (i.e. if you can recognise bases in the density).

Kind regards,
Tim Gruene
