Dear Colleagues,
We are seeking to recruit a postdoctoral fellow for the structural and
biochemical characterization of eukaryotic transcription complexes by
X-ray crystallography or electron microscopy (single-particle cryo-EM
and/or cryo-electron tomography). The successful candidate will join the
group of Christoph Müller, Structural and Computational Biology Unit, at
EMBL Heidelberg. EMBL is a leading international research organization
with a collaborative and interdisciplinary atmosphere (see www.embl.de).
The cryo-EM facilities at EMBL are outstanding and soon house two FEI
Titan Krios, a Talos Arctica and Polara equipped with state-of-the-art
direct electron detectors. The Müller group studies molecular mechanisms
of eukaryotic transcriptional regulation as also described at
http://www.embl.de/research/units/scb/mueller_christoph/index.html.
The successful candidate holds a Ph.D. in structural biology or
biochemistry. The position is particular suitable for an experienced
protein crystallographer who is interested in moving into cryo-EM or an
electron microscopist with experience in single-particle cryo-EM and/or
cryo-ET. The position requires exceptional motivation and commitment,
the ability to work independently as well as in a team and excellent
technical, organizational and management skills. Further details
regarding work in the laboratory and details of the projects can be
directly obtained from Christoph W. Müller (cmuel...@embl.de). EMBL is
an inclusive, equal opportunity employer offering attractive conditions
and benefits appropriate to an international research organisation.
Closing date: 14 May 2017. Please apply online through
http://www.embl.org/jobs
Best regards,
Christoph
