Well, I found dust and what looks like oil on the optical wheel.  It looks like somebody may have tried to lube the bearings in situ and used too much oil :-( I'm amused to see that it uses the same moiré principle that was used way back in the RK05! Do you know if the pattern on the wheel

Hello, I recently got my IBM 029 keypunch working, and am expanding the search for a punched card reader. Ideally RS-232, but unknown protocol or parallel is fine also. Repair required is also fine :). Thanks for any help! -Eric
