I’m actually surprised that it took this long before the “sharks” started to
circle our historical objects looking for things like asbestos, arsenic, radium
and other “poisons” used in the making these machines.

I manage the finance for the VCF Museum and our shows, which means I also deal
with our “artifact loans”. It is a lot of paperwork. Only “special” items
are worth the hassle.
As for museums closing… Its tough when you can’t have visitors who help pay for
the day to day operational costs
If no one answers I can measure the panel at the VCF Museum’s straight-8 on
Wednesday when I’m there.

Ok the original topic.
I think what screwed the guy selling the 25 cent computer disks is that
Microsoft, according to the article ,sells $25 replacement restore disks. So
technically he is counterfeiting a current Microsoft product, the physical
restore disk they sell. The whole argument
That must have been photos from Saturday morning, by Saturday afternoon we had
to rearrange the Apple-1 cases because we had 14 at the show at once with a
minimum of 2 continually running and we were working on repairing some on the
table behind the one with Marco Boglione’s Apple-1 playing
There have been lots of mentions of VCF West on social media and I think even
in the press.
I’m heading out to the west coast right now for the show and it’s going to be
one for the record books. There are more exhibitors (35+) then ever before and
lots of cool talks.

Corey

The high price isn’t a Steve Jobs distortion field. The Apple-1 was
collectible in the 1980’s before Jobs became the one we all remember. The
Apple-1 was really the 1st collectible personal computer and it was produced in
very limited numbers for a very short time and was tied the grandparent
Actually the cheapest Apple-1 reproduction is just over 4 figures. A
reproduction with date correct components cost as much as 5 figures.
A work-alike like a replica-1 is cheap, maybe $150

Wow I’m jealous,
I lost out this week, it was a choice between Bletchley and Selfriges. My kids
wanted to shop on Oxford street and didn’t want to take a train for a few hours
to Bletchley which would make dad happy. They wanted a something a short walk
or tube ride from our hotel near Hyde
You can only watch them in Canada and the first episode is the only one you can
watch even if your in Canada without a cable subscription.

Can’t see it yet in the states, but I was wondering if anyone here saw it and
what you though. I was involved with the show.

Can anyone find an auction description in English? Not computer aka "google"
translated but approved by the auction house for accuracy?
If they are French only for this auction, it will severely limit the base of
bidders and affect the value.

When most twiggy media stopped being produced and twiggy drives got thrown into
the trash as people upgraded their Lisa 1 to a Lisa 2.
