I don’t need any more but it’s nice to see the shockwatch hasn’t gone on any of
them.

There's already a wiki that covers terminals at

Would the simplest thing be to simply link to there for terminals?

Well I joined DEC in 1975 as a terminals specialist.
At that time there were the VT05, VT50 and VT52. VDU's ASR33,LA30 and
LA36 printing terminals.

I remember being shown the VT100 prototype and being totally blown away.
It was streets ahead of anything else and became the industry standard.

As always, email me if you want/need an account, and I'll set it up. Just
send me the account name you'd like (lots of people seem to prefer their old
timesharing system login names :-), and the email address to associate with
the accot.

I guess that depends on your opinion of "reasonable".

I have a number of 8mm home videos my father made but every place I looked
at was prohibitively expensive (several hundred dollars per reel!!)

At that price the DIY solution seems the only reasonable one.

I just went to goodwill bought a projector and set up a little screen with
a and black frame and used a nice modern video camera to film the movie
being projected. It's actually very easy to do.Take the time to get
the lighting right. Tip - Project closely to the screen, the smaller the
projection the better the resolution.

Why?

if you want the best image, then use a relatively low wattage projection
bulb, remove the projector lens, and mount the camera to focus right on
the filmgate, if you have a suitable camera that can close focus for that
size.

$20. At least around where I live. I own three of them. Most have a
regular 8 and super 8 adapter so you can switch between the two formats.

Is someone here, who has the documentation for an Dilog SU726A Rev. C,

Looks like the documentation is not on the Web, as google doesn't return
any helpful link, and Bitsavers miss it also.

Many Greetings

My tape obsession was already slightly out of control, but when I found a
create of 8mm reel of family footage and other movies in my 90 something year
old grandfather's storage, I need a recommendation on how to play these, we're
they standardised?

What is the difference between 8mm and super 8, is it backwards compatible?

Or is this all to analogue to care?

There are companies around who will transcribe 8mm (either form) to DVD for
quite reasonable prices
(they'll almost certainly also do 16mm and may be able to do 9.5mm as well - I
think "single 8" only differs from "standard 8" at the camera)

Most projectors of the era of super/regular 8 fulm have an adapter to hold
either to the reel in place. Otherwise they're used the same way.

https://github.com/KiCad/kicad-library/pull/1441.

I was told that I need to trim the board back by .15mm, citing this

This doesn't seem to make sense to me. I always thought that the
bearing surfaces on the card cage would be spaced slightly more than the
card width. What's going on here? What am I missing?

The VMEbus spec says the same, tolerance is [+ 0, - 0.3mm] so take the
.15mm off and you're good ;-)

Actually look at the connectors & grid, so you need to take of .075mm of
each edge, so the connector area stays the same ...
