Yea I received a Sparcbook 2 and saw this damage knock some SMD
components off the entire OTHER SIDE of the board from the leaky cap.
Got it going again with cleaning and repair work though.
I had a SB3 fail in its power supply module due to shorted tantrums on
the output side of the supply
Wow Mattis this looks great, fantastic work!
I will see if I can solder up a unit from what you have up on github on
a perf board (I should have a few bluepills kicking around) and see if I
can assist in some way with testing on a 3174-61R I have.
Unfortunately its the only one I have and I
Yea the PT-2 was a CE tool used for TONS of devices, I have a write-up
on IBM storage from the 3370 days and the PT-2 was mentioned for
diagnostics on the 3370, even remotely to a customer site over landline
I would suppose.
So a pretty neat thing but this and all later devices had tapes you'd

On the top of the cartridge there is bunch of clips in a circular
pattern.
If you squeeze all these in at once, either carefully with your fingers
or with some tube that is just the right size to squeeze them all in at
once, you can then slide the clear cover off the top.
The tape is a bit
Alright, I think I will go for it. I am not too far from it being in
Poughkeepsie.
Always loved the desk machines, and I personally have another kinda
parts Nova 4 that hopefully I can use to switch parts between to get one
really nice machine :)

Thanks Cindy,
I have been looking for these machines since I have been working on an
exhibit around the company who made these and also I know some people
who have been looking for these things.
Email sent directly to the seller.
Thanks,

BUT will it run Doom ;)?
Sorry, couldn't resist...

While I am not sure about Doom, it will not run a Quake or Unreal
Tournament server since they have x86 binaries in them.
I learned this while trying to compile source on my z890 under SuSE.
I've seen
Come one come all!
Its the day of reckoning.
I finally have some storage on loan from a company called Funsoft!
Hopefully by the end of the night I will have Linux installed and a
portal to the internet to which people can connect and play on it!

I really wish the best of luck to whomever gets it.
I must say I'm very jealous ;)

Quite literally yes I did, because the basement and first floor does not

Only the second and third floors do!

I recently won an IBM z890 via auction for $237.
It was a very interesting adventure to retrieve this machine since it
weighs 1500LBS on a good day, and well myself only clocking in around
115LBS I needed the help of a few friends and family to get this thing
into the basement...

I'm curious. This auction appears to be for an ASR33 in a Honeywell

Any ideas?
