Many thanks for all the info. I just wanted to make sure my recesses were
right.

 

I asked about MG because, in an audio forum, I see folks paying crazy money
for AC cords and power line conditioners.  I thought a good MG would solve
many of the 'problems' they are trying to fix.

machines using a motor generator.

 

If I am right was this to create a stable power source at a certain
frequency or voltage?

I had an old IRA 7340 Hypertape cartridge. It is at the Computer Museum of
America. I still have a cartridge but don't know from where.

I just got some replacement strips for a 2321 Data Cell.

Just received my latest eBay purchase. 5 3850 MSS cartridges.

3 of them had no tape inside. Just wondering why. Data destruction?
Inquisitive previous owner?

1 of them has an opaque yellow shell instead of the smoked clear plastic.
Possible CE cart? Has magic marker printing on it BAD MSS TAG

I thought it took 2 of these carts to restore a 3330 disk. One of these
carts has a label on it with 'Data Management Conference October 19-21, 1982
San Jose, California. Me thinks the cart was given out as a souvenir.


I was also wondering what old mainframe magnetic media cost back in the day.
2311, 2314, 3330 packs. 2314 Data Cell and a 3850 MSS cartridge. And a 7340
tape cassette.
I was on a business call to Yellow Cab in Chicago in the early 70's. We
entered through the garage and there was a pile of 2311 packs there. They
had just installed a 2314 system and the 2311 packs were being thrown out. I
asked if I could have an old pack. I chose a yellow 3M pack. Still have it.

The model number looks like 9603.  Can't tell for sure.  The box in back has
the 14xx flavor.

EC4001.  Number sounds familiar from my eBay sojourns.

True. Plus the individual trips to the post office.

However that's ebay and this is here. I like some of them.

When I searched I saw something that said $2.63. I took that to be per
pound. Now I see elsewhere a 26 pound box is $15.41.

So let's says shipping will be $32.  If it turns out to be more I will
request more. :-)

I don't have time or patience to list individually.  I have found it takes
at least 20 minutes per item to list something. Lots of time.  Plus the
listing fees, selling fees and postage vs what I could sell them for puts me
at less than half old minimum wage. :-)

I don’t recall if I had any 3880 documents.  I will ask how they would like to 
handle this type of request. There are many duplicates and they will need time 
to catalog the documents.

CHM only wants my punched card collection (4000+ cards) which they are
getting when I croak.  Did not want the other stuff.

Livingcomputers only interested in miniatures.

I will swear I sent a note to Al Kossow about manuals. No reply.

had to go. Praise the computer gods I found someone that wanted it all.

115 boxes of manuals and documents.
26 boxes of coffee mugs

106 loose big items.

I was just contacted by the Living Computers Museum. They emphasized they are a 
501(c)(3) org. :-)
