Re: HP 7970B/E Tape Unit manual available
That would be great, as some of the pages in the current manuals or bits of the schematics are missing. And for some reason it is always the page I need that's missing! It's in the configuration matrix in the service manual. The 7/9 configuration is read-only. If nothing else, I should pull it out, clean it up, and shoot pictures of everything inside. When Crisis was shutting down, I also bought every 7/9 head stack they had.

Al - I have had them with 7 and with 9 but never lucky enough to get the dual headed one... yea... well worth putting online. do you have a link to any sales info on this? I used to hear of these but never laid eyes on one. Ed# In a message dated 9/22/2016 10:32:09 A.M. I'll gladly take them if they are still available. Let me know how much the shipping is to California. Re: HP 7970B/E Tape Unit manual available
for people that care, I'll be rescanning that series of HP manuals using my long page scanner at 600dpi. They are sitting on the pile next to the scanner right now. I'm trying to decide if I want to attempt getting my 7970 with a dual 7/9 track head running this year.
