FreeBSD does not support ATAPI. The kernel has an unapropriate

Is there a way to use cdrecord IDE CD-RW drive on FreeBSD ?
Some kind of SCSI emulation (e.g something like linux's "ide-scsi")?

Hi,
I have a new computer with RH 7.1 + recent updates to kernel version 2.4.9-6.
My CD-RW is a NEC that isn't on the cdrecord compatibility list.
Do I have any hope of making this work?
Thanks

OS = SUN Solaris - 2.8
Is there any way to share remote drive for writing?
Thanks.
Sandeep.

eject does:
[askwar@teich askwar]$ eject --help 2>&1|grep tray
eject [-vn] -t [] -- close tray

This is a conceptual patch relative to cdrtools-1.10 which makes it
possible to use cdrecord together with Solaris 8 Volume Manager. There
is one unresolved issue though. Namely I expected vold to resense the
media and (re)mount newly burned filesystem after DKIOCSGEOM, but it
doesn't do that with
