growisofs hang w. DVD+-R

Hi, I need HELP! I have a problem burning DVD+/-R with k3b. Everything seems fine until it reaches round about 965MB. Then everything hangs: k3b growisofs. I have to use CTRL+ALT+ESC to kill k3b. Same with growisofs. And the burner seems to hang, since it takes two to three times to eject
