I update the Nicolae Mihalache patch (up to 1.11a37 right now) with the cdrecord-dvdhack mandrake package on a regular basis. I use it with a Pionner A03 with no problem until now. I have no feedback of user with another drive, but it seems that the pionner A04 works also with this version (to be confirmed) You can find the package on any mandrake mirrors, or the patch in the corresponding source pacakges in the SRPMS directory on mirrors.
