Debian is very picky about licences. cegcc says that because it is an
amalgamation of projects it carries the licenses of all of them -- and
refers the reader to those. So I'll have to check them all out. If
they're all known and acceptable to Debian I'm probably ok. If not,
though -- well, I'm not sure what happens. Which is why I said I'm
worried. :-)

Please do ;)

In the meantime, there's someone who used "alien" to convert from RPM. I
think I have that installed. If not, I probably just unpacked some
.tar.gz. You could've done that, too :)

I use Ubuntu 7.10 for work and have tried just dropping the latest
cegcc release onto it. Works fine, even if it's not as easy as typing
'apt-get install cegcc'.

The packaging should be easy. I'm worried about the licencing issues,
however. We'll see.

I wrote a small post on this subject
(http://jabasite.ej.am/blog/2007/12/31/installing-cegcc-on-ubuntu/), and
have been able to install and use cegcc on Ubuntu Gutsy without problems.

that would be great! I am using Ubuntu 7.10 now on my Desktop and have
not been able to compile anything for the PocketPC since..
Been a bit too busy to try and build it myself.
