We are doing this quite a bit in production and it works great. bond as you normally would: DEVICE=bond0 ONBOOT=yes USERCTL=no BONDING_OPTS=mode=4 miimon=100 one of these for each vlan (in this case 50): VLAN=yes VLAN_NAME_TYPE=VLAN_PLUS_VID_NO_PAD DEVICE=vlan50 PHYSDEV=bond0 TYPE=Ethernet

[CentOS] bind slave sync takes long

2011-11-22 Thread Götz Reinicke
Hi, I do have two DNS servers running bind 9.7.3. One master, one slave. If I add/update a record on the master, it takes up to more or less 20 hours until that change is transferred to the slave. That is a long time for me :-) May be I got some settings wrong which would sync much faster ... ?

The whole gigabyte vs. gibibyte argument again! According to IEEE, NIST, and bunch of other organizations, a gigabyte is 1,000,000,000 bytes, and a gibibyte is 1,073,741,824 bytes. I can't wait until we start dealing with yobibytes!! --Russell -Original Message- From:
