I am working to a CentOS 6 server with nonstandard iptables system
without rule for ACCEPT ESTABLISHED connections. All tables and chains
empty (flush by legacy custom script) so only filter/INPUT chain has
rules (also fail2ban chain):

I don't see any hardware errors on the Dell, as of yet, and I do plan to update
the BIOS today.
I'll go ahead and replace the cable, and ask the network guys to check the
routers for any
errors on the port. I did do some follow-up, and see that this problem persists
across other
platforms

We recently installed CentOS 7 from DVD. Our install selection was the
GNOME desktop option. yum update yielded about 465 megabytes of updates
all of which were successful with no warnings. The multi media option
was not chosen because KDE was listed. GNOME was not apparent in the
software list f
