El certificado lo puedes poner en cualquier parte del disco duro, siempre
que le especifiques al Sendmail, Postfix, Exim o Qmail donde leerlo.
Significa que no tenías el certificado activo y no estabas haciendo
realmente SSL/TLS

La verdad alcancelibre se queda corto en las configuraciones, me ha tocado
seguir el manual de Nagios el le falta por mucho explicar las cosas, de
nada vale hacer las cosas como robot y no expliquen los valores de los
parametros.
Recomendacion busca otro manual.
