[CentOS] Installing owncloud on CentOS 7 server
I transitioning an owncloud installation from a C6 server to a new C7 server and used yum install owncloud to install it on the C7 server. I expected /var/www/owncloud to be generated but alas not. Quick Googling just showed examples of installing from the latest owncloud repository but not using yum. Have I missed something obvious when using yum to install? ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org https://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos

[CentOS] Can't access Squirrelmail on Centos 8
Good evening, I have not able able to run the http://ip-addr/src/configtest.php script, nor access Squirrelmail. Looking for suggestions on what I might have missed. When I try either http://ip-... or https://ip-..., I get the following reply Forbidden You don't have permission to access /webmail/src/configtest.php on this server. I got squirrelmail installed in /usr/share/squirrelmail and 'configured' to work (using ./conf.pl). This setup below is about the same setup on my Centos 6 box. I'm thinking my issue is more Apache configuration related than Squirrelmail. **Apache is running with no issues** Below are some of my settings in /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf Apache ServerRoot is /etc/httpd Apache DocumentRoot is /www Further parameters within httpd.conf include: # # Relax access to content within /var/www. # AllowOverride None # Allow open access: Require all granted # Further relax access to the default document root: Options Indexes FollowSymLinks AllowOverride None # # Controls who can get stuff from this server. # Require all granted In /etc/httpd/conf.modules.d I created a file called 16-squirrelmail.conf That file contains the following information: # SquirrelMail is a webmail package written in PHP. # Alias /webmail /usr/share/squirrelmail # AllowOverride None Require all denied # this section makes squirrelmail use https connections only, for this you # need to have mod_ssl installed. If you want to use unsecure http # connections, just remove this section: #6-12-2020 commented out next five lines to test sqmail in http mode only RewriteEngine on RewriteCond%{HTTPS} !=on RewriteRule (.*) https://%{HTTP_HOST}%{REQUEST_URI} Any suggestions Thanks, Jay ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org https://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos

With my experience with libvirt and vlan bridges on Fedora, libvirt may include unwanted firewall rules which drops the traffic over the bridges. I haven't done that yet, so I'll try that next. Thanks for the idea. So, I tried dropping the firewall, etc. No joy. So I punted; I did a scratch reinstall of C8.2.2004 on the host, using the 'Virtualization Host' group, and creating one bridge on the management VLAN, but this time on top of a bond, not a team. After install, reboot, and updating to latest, which verified that the management IP and VLAN has connectivity, I then used nmtui to create the second bridge on the second VLAN on top of the bond. I then connected to libvirt with virt-manager on my laptop, and installed a minimal install of C8 as a guest, connected to bridge302 again, with a static address. After the install and reboot, I checked with a ping on the guest to its gateway; hooray now it works. I was able to update the guest and get the application server installed that is goig on the guest, with good throughput. Other than this one using a bond instead of a team I don't see any difference in the bridge setup. No extra work was required to get it to work, either. So, I set up another development host, but this time using a team instead of a bond, and I'm going to try to get that working with bridged networking to a virtual guest, since it really is supposed to work, and I'm very curious why it didn't. But the first guest running that particular application server is required in pretty short order, too short for me to play around trying to get teaming to work properly for a bridged-on-a-VLAN guest. ___ CentOS mailing list CentOS@centos.org https://lists.centos.org/mailman/listinfo/centos
