Is it good measure to add it to the hosts file anyway or is this a waste
of time? I guess my understanding of the host file is clouded.
Yes, waste of time. It's all in how you've configured postfix to handle
it. The default is to the FQDN of the server, but I'd suggest you change
accordingly
addition of usrquota,grpquota is
the sole reason for this issue.

Anyone having problems with logrotate and CentOS 5.4?
Although I have /etc/logrotate.d/mail (contents below) to rotate my maillog
file, it fails to do it automatically:
/var/log/maillog {
compress
dateext
maxage 365
rotate 60
size=+1024k
missingok
postrotate
what's a good link to read about how the resolv.conf file is
constructed? esp. the search entry?
