How do I figure this out?

Try hp-setup and hp-check

Hi Jerry ,

I would say unmount it and then run the file check.

Hi Johnny ,

On this machine I run Centos 6 with 1 Gb (is the maximum) RAM memory

[CentOS] SELinux is preventing 11-dhclient from add_name access on the directory chrony.servers.wlp8s0.

2019-12-02 Thread Ger van Dijck

SELinux is preventing 11-dhclient from add_name access on the directory
chrony.servers.wlp8s0.

* Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests

If you believe that 11-dhclient should be allowed add_name access on the
chrony.servers.wlp8s0 directory by default.
Then you should report this as a bug.
You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
Do
allow this access for now by executing:
# ausearch -c '11-dhclient' --raw | audit2allow -M my-11dhclient
# semodule -X 300 -i my-11dhclient.pp

Yes, there are shells running on the alternative consoles, so if you
are doing a GUI install then do Ctrl-Alt-F1 to get to the text console
- that console is the one running the install and may have some error
messages. Do Alt-F2 from there to get to a shell prompt with root
privileges, Alt-F3 for the anaconda log, Alt-F4 for the storage log,
Alt-F5 for other log messages and Alt-F6 to get back to the GUI
install.

Hi,

I tried a long time ago to install Centos 7 on an Acer 2000 (32 Bits) with
Net-install , loaded down a CD : The instructions are very clear : But I
never had any succes or a result . I know it is a very old PC with 1 GB
memory , I use it with , maybe you do not believe it with an application
of SCO Unix 5.05 ( self build CAD application written in C) . The gag is
the bootloader recognects SCO .

Is there out ther some one who can help or advise ?

Kind regards ,

[CentOS] Scanner problems HP4620 Jon LaBadie.

2019-03-03 Thread Ger van Dijck

Hi Jon ,

I agree it is a little bit confusing : On USB all runs fine . So Hplip ,
cups , etc. is installed and functionates .

On WLAN , believe it or not printing and faxing runs fine ; So the Wifi
communication is present and functionating , but the scanner function is
not !

When running hp-check under USB (Discouvered Devices) the laptopcamera and
the scanner is present and all goes fine . Under WLAN (hp-check) the
laptopcamera is present , but the scanner not . Clear is the scanner
function cannot functionate , Uncear is why can I print to the HP4620 ,
fax with the HP4620 and NOT scan to the HP4620 while there must excists a
wireless communication ?

This is an enigma .

[CentOS] Centos Digest Vol.169 Issue 26 HPlip Mark Roth/Jon LaBadie .

2019-02-27 Thread Ger van Dijck

Hi Folks ,

The problems with HPlip goes on and on : I can not manage to establish a
connection on WiFi with the HP4620 : I can print to the printer but not
scan . Running hp-check results in cups is not running, hplip is not
properly (HP) installed , xsane is not installed etc.. But I can assure
you all this software is properly installed : Hp-check cannot detect the
scanfunction on the HP4620. When running on USB cable all runs fine !

Maybe Bug 1683312 from Zdenek Dohnal (Red Hat) could be helpfull : I
reported this bug .

Hp does not support Unix/Linux applications ! Are they really so stupid to
think that the world excist by MS and all other users do not need support:
Arrogance or stupidity ?
