Yep, built into GNOME. Either use the workspace switcher applet on the lower panel _or_ the keyboard shortcuts [0]. Ctrl + Alt + left or right arrow by default for GNOME2. Recent versions of GNOME (version 3) use Ctrl + Alt + up or down arrow by default. [0]
