What? I never said the OP was a spammer, and you're somewhat right - this
particular list is for talking about jobs, not really posting them, but hey,
close enough.

To set the record straight (which I seem to have to do with this list more
than any other list I belong to, I dunno why) I was referring to Vincent's
post (twice!) to OP to have him (Rob) send his email, when the information
was available via the email header.

Bah, now I'm spamming a list about something that doesn't really matter.
I'm dropping it, promise.

2008-01-23 Thread Vincent Cannady
Hi Scott,

Actually I do have CF Jobs set to immediate receipt but I don't feel that
hearing the complaints of other programmers is an immediate need. I thought
that this forum was to discuss the advancement of our skills as well as form
bonds of brotherhood instead I find that petty bickering precludes any
conversation and that actual programming is rarely discussed in this particular
forum.

Thanks for the Advice!
Vincent,

In all seriousness, you'd be better served by changing your subscription to
immediate. This way you'll have the information that you need to respond to
recruiters and job ops off list. This list doesn?t generate enough traffic
to warrant digest format (IMO).

I don?t even have CF-Community set to digest format, I just wrote a rule in
Outlook and let my email app handle it. Every email app has this capability,
unless you're running Pine or something under Linux.

This'll probably save you a lot of headaches down the line.

The answer would be to have posts made from the archives to a job poster go
directly to them. This keeps their address hidden from spammers while
keeping them accessible.

@Judith or the list developer: while it's true that posters should make it
 a
habit to include their contact info in the body of their posts, might
there be a way to automatically include each poster's email in the
 digests?
I switched from digest to immediate mode to avoid that problem, but the
digest can be more convenient sometimes.

 Thanks!
 Steve

By the way Mr ROBOT all I get from CF Jobs Talk is a digest every 2 hour
which does not give email addresses, just your name. FYI !
  I would try this:

  [EMAIL PROTECTED]

since it is right in the header of the email and he never gave an
  alternate.

But that's just me, using the tools in front of me instead of spamming
 a
whole list, exactly like the poster asked NOT be done.

Different strokes for different folks I guess.
